About Me

Brian is a central Iowa based Scenic Designer, Technical Director, and Theatre Artist. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, he fell in love with theatre as a dancer in high school productions, leading him to pursue a dual B.F.A. in performance and technical theatre from Florida Southern College.
Post graduation Brian pursued his MFA from Kent State University and simultaneously built his professional credits with Rubber City Theatre serving as production manager, technical director, and scenic charge for mainstage productions from 2019-2022.
Currently, Brian works as an educator and mentor to students as the scenic designer and technical director for Iowa State University.
In addition to his academic work Seckfort diligently continues to freelance as a designer hoping to collaborate with artists across the United States and beyond. 
Outside of theatre Brian loves spending time with his family, hiking, enjoying good food, craft beer, travel, and cooking.
